Waiting on Wednesday: Allegiant

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week is Allegiant by Veronica Roth which is set to be released on October 22nd, 2013.

I am soooo beyond excited for this release! I remember the first time I read Divergent I could not put it down! It was so action packed and simply amazing. Not to mention I totally developed a crush on Four...but that is totally not why I love this series. I also am in love with the covers for the series. I am glad they stayed true to the design and didn't change it last minute. I think they work well with each other.

I can't decide which of the covers I love more! It's a tie between Insurgent and Allegiant!

What release are you guys most looking forward to?! :)

Review: eleanor & park

Tittle: eleanor & park
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
Year: 2013

Summary on Goodreads: Set over the course of one school year in 1986, ELEANOR AND PARK is the story of two star-crossed misfits--smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you'll remember your own first love--and just how hard it pulled you under.

My Thoughts: I first heard about this book on Youtube and I didn't hear too much other than it was a realistic love story. I didn't want to look too much into it so I just picked it up and gave it a try. To be honest I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Correction...I LOVED it!!!

Let's start with the characters, I absolutely loved the characters. Eleanor and Park are so magnificently crafted. They are not your perfect gorgeous teens or your "nerdy" chic ones either. They are real people. I was so happy to see a female character who was real and raw. Eleanor doesn't have much money and her appearance reflects that. She is also described as being a little overweight. Park is the only Korean around and he has a punk look to him. They both don't fit in to the standards of beauty everyone around them seems to have. Yet they see something in each other that is so beautiful. What's on the inside really shines out and that's what I loved about them. I loved Park's parent's as well! They were such a beautiful depiction of what love could be. And then on the other hand you had Eleanor's mother and stepfather, a sad image of disastrous love.

I felt so many emotions while reading this book. I gushed so many times over the moments they were experiencing. Rainbow Rowell used such descriptive language that i would get giggly when ever they held hands or looked at each other!! I have to be honest...this might be embarrassing but...I cried for the last 50 pages or so. And when I say cry, I mean I bawled. My boyfriend looked over and was like "are you serious? You have a puddle of tears on the table!" haha I just got so invested in the story, I couldn't help but feel all that they were feeling.

I was satisfied with the ending. I think it ended the way it needed too. It does leave you wondering what can come next but not in a cliffhanger kind of way. More of a leave it to the imagination way. Which is fine by me because I know exactly what comes next in my mind haha. Overall this book is simply amazing! There is no amount of words that I could use that would accurately describe how wonderful this book is. It will leave giggly, blushing, and breathless. I am looking forward to reading more books by Rainbow Rowell because right now she is pretty up there on my amazing list! :)

GO READ IT PLEASE! <3

Book Haul (1)

I can't remember the last time I bought books before this...well I can, it was late November and I got James Dashner's The Kill Order. I was making my big move from Florida to North Carolina early December and I was trying to save up as much as I could. So it had been about half a year without buying any books! That is WAY too long...in my opinion at least. But anyways my loving boyfriend decided to treat me to two hardbacks and then a week ago he got me two more paperbacks I have been wanting. <3 So here is a little mini haul of the books I got.

THE 5TH ORDER

I have been lusting after this book ever since I heard about it on Youtube! It just sounds amazing and I can't wait to dig into it. But I've been putting it off because I want to read it on a day where I can dedicate how ever long to it. So hopefully next week on my day off I'll jump right in!

ELEANOR & PARK

This was another book that I heard rave reviews about and was dying to read. I ended up reading it in two sittings and I am absolutely in love with it! I know most of you have probably heard tons about it but there are no words I could say that would do this book justice or would be able to explain all that I felt while reading this book! Even so, I am planning on writing a review this week for it so that I can gush even more over it! <3

READY PLAYER ONE

I don't know too much about this book. What I have heard has been all good. But the premise sounds amazing! I am a total gamer and so a book that takes you into a game totally sounds like my cup of tea. My boyfriend even said he might read this one after I am done.

THE SELECTION

I initially went into Barnes & Noble with a plan, I was going to get Ready Player One and The Pledge but when I asked they told me they didn't have it so I had to skim the bookshelves pretty quickly for another book to take with me that day. The selection won. I was on the fence for a while about whether I wanted to read this series or not. But every time I thought about it too long another book would win over it. This was the perfect opportunity to get it because it was on a whim. :) And the more I think about it the more excited I am to read it.

Well that's my haul! Not big by any means but full of books I'm dying to read! Like I said, I'll be posting my review for Eleanor & Park later on this week! Let me know if you have read any of these books and what books you've picked up recently! :)

Getting Started...Again

I have tried a couple times in the past to keep a blog, but it seems that every time it becomes more of a chore than a fun hobby. The reason? I keep trying to make a blog that everyone will like rather than making one that I myself can enjoy. What I mean is, there are so many amazing book bloggers out there that I constantly feel I have to keep up with them. This time around though, I am going to throw all that out the window! :)

I have always loved reading and growing up it was such an important part of my life. I used to drive my mom crazy, she would buy me a book and the next day I'd be begging her for a new one because I had stayed up all night finishing the other one. The good thing was books was one of those things she rarely said no to. If I asked for a toy from the store or candy she might say no, but on most occasions I was guaranteed a book. I thank her greatly for that! <3

I'm one of those people who will crack open a book and not close it until I am done. I get so sucked into the story that I can't possibly break away from it. I know plenty of people who will read a couple of pages before bed and then put it down, I've tried...never worked. Not to say I always can devour a book in one sitting, because sadly life as an adult means working, studying, and house hold chores. Not to mention a couple years back I was able to buy 5 to 10 books in one trip now most of my money goes towards bills and on occasions I treat myself, or my wonderful boyfriend does :)! Some girls get flowers, I get a hardback book haha but I am definitely not complaining!

But anyways, enough about me, I am extremely excited to get this blog going!!!
I'll try to get some more posts up between tonight and tomorrow.
